KKXT made some programming adjustments:

World Cafe is now on from 9-11pm Mon.-Fri. with the replay from 4am-6am Mon.-Fri.
Gini Masscoro is now on from 6-10am Mon.-Fri.
Mark Abuzzahab is now on from 10am-3pm Mon.-Fri.
Joe Kozera is on from 3-7pm Mon.-Fri.
Justin Roberts 7-9pm Mon.-Fri.
UnderCurrents 11pm-4am Mon.-Fri.

Any thoughts??

Yeah, why the whispering? I get my whispering on KERA and WRR.

What is the goal of service for KXT ?

Is it for KERA listeners to get their freak on by listening to music with drums and electricity?

If its about growing that thing beyond a cool unknown "aren't we special" club they need some caffeine. Risk pissing off the 30+year olds that are still angry their smarts didn't = acceptance in high school, and add.....a friggin vibe of ) Happy or Life. The music is awesome - the presentation is like someone politely telling you your dog just died.

I'll admit, I don't understand some of what you're saying in your post. Specifically, the part about listeners getting their freak on by listening to music with drums and electricity. In any case, I agree with your consensus on the presentation. At times, its way too sleepy. They should pick up the energy level a bit.

Kxt needs jocks and imaging. Then add some adrenaline in that playlist... I cant listen to "polite" rock.

Polite rock = fail....

Perhaps KKXT is after intelligent adults with broad tastes in music and not the Beavis and Butt-Head types who listen to commerical radio.

Or possibly they're lacking in underwriting and hope to generate some with a different taste of music. Too bad it's not working. Since their a "noncom" advertising doesnt matter, "donations" do. Intelligent adults would want a sucessful station, not a "begger."

Well, the people who listen to the lowest common denominator type of rock may be able to pool their donations and buy a keg and a bag of Doritos.

Then KXT is not the radio station in which to listen. I regard them as an UN-radio station. No commercials, no amped-up jocks, no imaging and, with the exception of their incessant (yet necessary) fund-raising breaks, I enjoy the total listening experience.

If you want no imaging, no jocks, and no adrenaline music, there's an ipod for that....... This IS radio. Sposed to be entertaining, to an extent.....

No two of us are exactly alike.

That having been said, what you may consider as "entertainment" others may consider fingernails on a chalkboard (remember chalkboards??). I say this: if there's a market for KXT, more power to 'em. They've made it to the 2-year mark with plenty of listeners. That tells me they're doing at least something right. ;-)

Everyone has different music tastes. Sure I listen to some commercial stations like Kiss-FM, Lone Star 92.5, 102.1 The Edge, etc. to get my rap & rock fix as well as a few HD stations for jazz and indie music, but I could always getaway to KXT to hear some AAA favorites that pop up as well as undiscovered ones.

In the new September 12+ numbers, KKXT went from a 0.9 to a 1.4 and cume went up by nearly 60k. So, they've got that going for them.
