"The Dudley & Bob Morning Show" on KLBJ-FM 93.7 MHz today (02/24/2014) reclaimed the 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM hour that they had given up previously. They had been using that hour to record their paid subscription podcast but management asked them to add that hour back on-air for the purpose of ratings.

Dale Dudley hinted that they were using magic (I’m not sure if that was the exact word he used but it was along that line) to do the 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM part of the program.

This is pure speculation on my part (a 100% guess) but I’m wondering if they are messing with the speed of the audio so that, although they say they are “live” from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM (with commercials from 9:15 AM to 9:20 AM), they might have slowed the audio enough over the 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM part to extend it 15 minutes over the air while they record their paid subscription podcast from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. I believe the 9:20 AM to 10:00 AM part will now always be recorded parts from earlier that same day.

The reason I am guessing that they are messing with the speed of the audio being rebroadcast is because someone said something and they hit the dump button to remove that part and Matt Bearden asked Dale if they sat there in silence whether the show would continue. Dale said it would not. That little conversation make me suspect my theory of them messing with the over the air broadcast speed of the show during the 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM to get the extra 15 minutes of live audio from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM.

I think this is the new schedule starting today (02/24/2014) from the information that I have gathered:

5:00 AM – 6:00 AM
Pre-recorded (usually from the day before) partial segments of “The Dudley & Bob Morning Show”

6:00 AM – 9:15 AM
“The Dudley & Bob Morning Show” (live)

9:15 AM – 9:20 AM

9:20 AM – 10:00 AM

Today (04/04/2014) Dale Dudley made two announcements about “The Dudley And Bob Morning Show”.

Announcement #1
Dale said that management had exercised the option on their contract so that the contract for the show is now 28 months. He said that he thought the extension meant that the show will be on through June of 2016 but that he was not good at math so that might not be the correct month. He also said that 2017 has been added as an option to the contract.

Announcement #2
After Debra Cole left the show many years ago, Dale said that the name of 3rd member of the show would not be added to the name of the show in the future. LeeAnn (spelling?) and Charlie Hodge were 3rd members of the show (at different times) but their names were not added to the name of the show. Matt Bearden has been a 3rd member of the show for a few years now. Dale said that Matt’s name will now be added to the name of the show in some way.
