When I first posted about KLBP last year we were "ramping up". I wanted to report back AND get any feedback from the great minds here on what we may be doing right or wrong based on a couple of things.
First, a lot of work still to go on the website, but it's far less confusing than it was when we started. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

A newsletter is something I would never thought would be of much value. I think I might be wrong. Every time we put a new one out our donations surge. Here's the latest. Any thoughts here:
At the website you'll see that we - like most LPFM stations are populated by individual producers with their own shows. We have attempted to program them in related blocks. For example, most of Saturday morning is made up of "oldies" shows. Before and after our automation (RadioDJ) is programmed to play similar music, but with the idea of playing forgotten great tracks. Monday night is a heavy metal block. Thursday Hip-Hop and R&B. And so on.... Still some tweaking to the automation music to be done, but slowly but surely it seems to be working. With the programming tweaks we've done since last year and the introduction of an app, we've seen measurable rises in listeners ship and - more importantly - donations.
The all volunteer staff made up of mainly people a lot younger than me (I'm in my 70s) are very excited and motivated. I'll just add that if you live in the LA area and are a radio vet that wants to dip their toe back in for fun, we would be very excited to have you on board. We do have several long time LA radio folks working with us now. The more the merrier.
Again, ANY feedback - good or bad would be appreciated. We've got additional big plans for the rest of this year that I'll update people on as we move forward including some old LA radio station "take over" days that will bring back some classic stations from the LA radio dead.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
