KLDE PAUL CHRISTI NEW PD??

Caroline and Mark say NO WAAAAY for Paul Christi!!!!!!

I can;t remember his name but I thought KLDE had a solid PD. Has he left or been fired. If so where is he?

If they don't promote Paul Christy to PD from APD, it's got to be age-ism (sp?). I mean, talk about market experience and a couple of major success stories as a PD right HERE in Houston. Well, I guess it could be some other "ism" as well. "Cronyism," for example, if they bring in someone who used to work for the GM or cluster PD. They usually have job filled before they even fire someone, so who knows?

For the Record!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not post the previous comment... I must have left my ID signed on at someone else's computer and they have now written something without checking the ID... Whoever you are, please log off my account and sign back on as yourself ok?

I still work for Cox radio part time and don't need to have comments made using my name that are not my thoughts...

Thanks
Kevin

hmmmmmmmm. I don't think he'll make a good PD - if he can't be a good Asst PD what makes him think he can handle it? Besides, Cox isn't thinking when making changes lately. I've stopped listening when Scott came on board.

Got to hate it when that happens, Kevin.

You think it could end up being Scott Sparks as the new PD?

Let me see, "radiochick" doesn't like Parker, doesn't think Paul Christy is a good APD, do we have a little problem with Cox? You base not liking Parker on bumping into him at an event (where maybe he was busy & didn't have time for wannabes), so how do you base this evaluation of Christy? He didn't play your request for the Spice Girls?

Dumb question here- has anyone even asked Paul if he would *want* to be a PD? You know, he does have a family/production/voice over talent. Becoming a PD means a helluva lot more away time.

He's a hip cat that enjoys what he does (I would assume- I haven't asked him). Why burden yourself with additional duties that would take away from your airshift?

My dime, your call.

I believe he does and he would. His kids are grown, and he also juggles some mobile DJ gigs, but a lot of us juggle. PC wouldnt have any trouble, all he would need is a go-getter APD to do the legwork, and he just be there for guidance, and to go to all them dang meetin's.

Overlooking Paul would be a grave miscalculation. Not only is he a class act, but he wakes up thinking about what he's going to do on the air every day. He's risen above budget and staff cutbacks, politics, consolidation, station-shuffling, and everything else that might turn a person's stomach away from the business, and has managed to maintain pride and passion in his craft every day without fail. Besides, he's a heck of a nice guy who knows how to drive ad revenue and deliver a daily airshift that inspires a great deal of listener loyalty. Best of luck, Paul. I hope you get it, if you want it.
