KLEZ 101.5 FM Malvern Ark Is it a true B/EZ??

KLEZ 101.5 FM Malvern Ark Is it a true B/EZ??

I was looking at some of the radio formats on the web the other day and stumbled upon this llittle station in Malvern Arkansas. It said it was an easy listening station and that its slogan was easy 101.5, however there was no website. I am wondering if this station may be one of the few remaining real easy listening Beautiful Music stations or if it is a watered down AC outlet? If anyone knows please respond. I do know that a few years back I was in that neck of the woods a remember that station being a oldies station all satelite fed from what I can recall. Anyhow jus curious to know the status of this station
Thanks

I'm reasonably sure it used to run MOYL. I don't know what they do now....

I am sending a link of this post to a friend who's on the air in NW Arkansas right now, but used to work for the company that owns KLEZ (just in a different market). He can shed some light..

Grant.. paging Grant....

Re: KLEZ 101.5 FM Malvern Ark Is it a true B/EZ??

When it first came on the air, it was pretty close to a true beautiful music station. I haven't listened to it in over eight months, but I know the last time I was down that way I heard Fergie and Rascal Flatts so I would say that it has gone toward more of a soft AC.

KBVA 106.5 in Fayetteville would classify as a beautiful music station IMHO...

Looking at the playlist on the station's website, I don't see how KBVA could be considered a "beautiful music" station, or at least the beautiful music format which was prevalent on radio for many decades. "Beautiful music" consists primarily of instrumental music. KBVA's playlist more closely resembles a standards/soft AC format. From the KBVA playlist on their website:

From Nat King Cole to Michael Bublé, enjoy some of the best loved classics of all time. The variety music blends the best of the 50's from Elvis to Bobby Darin, quality artists from the 60s to the 80s such as The Carpenters, Kenny Rogers and Neil Diamond as well as the best of the contemporary artists such as Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Martina McBride, Celine Dion, Jack Johnson, Collin Raye and Norah Jones.

There isn't any mention of instrumental music, just vocals. I couldn't hear the stream because I haven't yet downloaded the jetcast plug-in, so I can't say for sure. But, if the list above is more representative of what they actually play, I'd hardly classify their format as "beautiful music".
