Why do these radio stations that have a format of multi-cultural radio fail?
THEY DON'T FAIL!!!! KLIB 110 and KFSG 1690's 5 year aggreement with the FCC to operate both stations (X-BAND and old frequency) ended. Multicultural had to surrender one of the licences and chose KLIB. Multicultural Broadcasting is one of the petitioners that is asking the FCC to allow them to keep the off air station long enough to find a minority buyer to sell their chosen station at a discount rather than waste the station. The argument is that the expandend AM band migration system didn't really work, so let's make the best use of the spectrum by providing minority groups an opportunity for ownership.
Also, Multicultural Broadcasting owns KATD in Pittsberg, CA. It has a CP to move it's transmitter to Sloughhouse in southern Sacramento County with 10,000 watts daytime and 5,000 watts nighttime, DA-2. This will put a city grade signal over most of Sacramento.
Because we are in the United States Of America.
Oh Brother... :'(
