KLIF album find

At the Half Price Books in Burleson of all places found an LP entitled KLIF Klassics 21. Album cover has 1190 on it. Has no date on the album but guessing by the songs I would guess 1970 or there abouts. (Crimson & Clover, The In Crowd, House of the Rising Sun). Quite a find in the cut out bin.

The LP itself says it was manufactured by Post Records in Philidelphia, PA.

Question for the board, Did KLIF (or any other station) put out other LP's? Just thought the LP itself was pretty cool and prob worth more than the $3 I paid for it. LP is in very good condition, no scratches whatsoever, heck, looks new.

There were quite a few of these actually...
Several had artwork drawn by Mike Selden.
I have copies of each of them. They do show up from time to time in used records stores and ebay.
While cool to have if you were a fan of KLIF, not a lot of value in them.

KILT in Houston (like KLIF, a McLendon station) had several over the years. I believe there were 5 of them, with 3 of them being 2-disc sets.

Post records (More To Come!!!) put out any number of radio station compilation albums in the late 60s/early 70s. The albums cover art was pretty similar from one station to another, as was the repertoire. A regional hit or two, but for the most part they all had more or less the same songs. Audio quality was generally pretty awful, often songs were in muddy-on-the-left, tinny-on-the-right fake stereo.

Cool if you're a fan of the station, or there's something that was a local hit you're looking for (I found "Flower Children" by Marcia Straussman on a KHJ album on Post), but as someone else stated, not really worth much as a collector's item.

We unearthed a bunch of KILT "Double Gold" LP's here about 10 years ago. I wouldn't sell them for anything.

-thanks for the card, Ange.
