KLIV's Bob Kieve Interviewed on KQED(TV)

Fascinating interview, and MAN, the guy is 90 and he doesn't look much older than 55. How does he DO it?
http://blogs.kqed.org/thisisus/2012/10/10/this-is-us-413/

The Kieve interview starts about 4 minutes into the program. Note also that part of the program repeats for some reason (along about the World War II footage) and goes back to the beginning of his interview, so skip ahead and you'll get the rest of it.

Just saw the interview. Wow, what an amazing guy! Sounds like he would be great to work for. You don't see that anymore in radio.

So which Rochester NY station did Mr Kieve manage before he moved to California?

Kieve was running WBBF/WBBF-FM here in the 1960s. Very well respected by everyone who worked with him.

I was an anchor at KLIV from '08 to '10 (got sick, had to leave...now I anchor from home to several markets)...Bob is awesome to work for...he PAYS WELL...and he still doesn't mind checking out the good looking ladies who visit the studios from time to time (the man is in his 90's and he has some mac daddy left in him!!!!! I love him.)...as a matter of fact, Empire is a good company to work for, I liked everybody there and it was truly fun to work at the Story Road studios...

I miss him and that station...

"...for 1590, KLIV...I'm Jim O'Reilly"...

I just discovered this site...really great...makes me wish I could get back to SF and do radio...take care everybody...
