KLJJ running advertisements again

Was scanning around the FM band earlier today... landed on KLJJ. Sounds like they're back to running satellite TV ads again, using a text-to-speech voice this time around.

Have not heard the station in months, as I am not in the area, but I recall when the station signed on it was about 50% advertising of some form (out right ads and infomercial style) utilizing calls to action and comparisons as I was in the area then. It seems the station operators were 'made aware of Underwriting Rules as they apply to non-commercial stations' and these advertisements suddenly stopped. To hear they might be back at it certainly is not good.

If you hear such announcements again, are they telling folks to 'call now' or making statements that compare the business with competitors and such? Some quotes from what they air on the radio station (not an internet feed) would be helpful in knowing if they are within the Underwriting Rules or not.

With that said, some feel they have little chance of being caught with the FCC field offices being consolidated to fewer locations but I don't know if that is a factor. The way I understand it, the FCC might have fewer offices but they are still 'in the field' just as they always have been.

The amount of advertising is much less than it used to be... however, the stuff they're running has the same script, verbatim, as what was running in the past. They're just using a text to speech voice now, rather than the human voice used previously. I'll see if I can catch some of the air feed again and report back.

What they were doing in the past was certainly in violation of Underwriting Rules. They said things like 'the most qualified', actually cut down another 'seller' of the same service and even said 'they offer a better deal' then encouraged listener to call them. I even had a radio friend send them the rules including why this or that violated the rules, so they should know now, if they hadn't in the past.
