We can only hope that it will continue its path from static to off the air altogether.

There - I'm done piling on.

[EDIT]
you all slaved away at your thankless jobs working for a corporation that underpaid you for 30 or more years and are now bitter to the end.

klol has top ratings and they kick everyone's butt in sales. they are better than both country stations, and krbe. they bring home the bacon.

you and your bitter resentful feelings think about that as you wish other people ill instead of the people that have been taking advantage of you for the last 30 years.

KLOL is 12th in 25-54, KLTN is #2. That's ratings.

KILT was the 2008 billing leader in the market. KKBQ was 7th, and KLOL was 12th. It's billing less than it did as a rocker, and the 3-month average 12+ ratings that were around a 4.7 in late '07 are now in the very low threes.

I agree that there is no call for condemning a format based on the lifestyle, age, gender or ethnicity of its listeners... or just because we don't like the music. But there is the fact that the station has pretty much settled into the level they had before changing to Mega... raising the question of "why."

at least Mega's not pulling the same numbers as KQBU. How low can that station go??

Mega is on the Senior Road tower... that would seem to be a considerable advantage.

KQBU puts a 70dbu over 724,000 persons, nearly half of whom are not in the Houston MSA. KLOL puts a 70 over 4.3 million persons.

Given that, KQBU outperforms KLOL when indexed against Houston MSA persons covered.

David - just worry about your own stations ad not CBS.

Saturation effect is taking place here with respect to ratings. If there were 8 rock stations in Houston, some would have disappointing ratings.

In case you ever wondered how to put lipstick on a pig...

KLOL?
Reap what you sow.
Fight over the last few nickles.
Starve whilst I laugh!
