Why the big jump between the Winter and Spring books? K-Love took over on June 30.<P ID="signature">______________

Because ARB does not "weight" the books for CHRISTIAN homes.

They "weight" the books for the various Ethnic households that get them, so that these kinds of disparities are corrected. Because there is no wieghting for Christian homes, the numbers can vary wildly.

So, one year, let's say 10 books land in Christian homes. Another year, 25 books land in Christian homes. Let's say that 1/3 of those homes log that they listened to Christian radio. That means in one survey, let's say 3 books list the Christian station(s). The following survey, 8 books list it (them). That means that the ratings can swing wildly from year-to-year, even while listenership remains relatively constant.

We've seen it, ourselves... while listener responses to various ministries remained virtually unchanged, book-by-book numbers jumped up and down quite a bit.

Im still not a "fan" of K-Love, but if they can change lives and bring people into a relationship with Christ, then best wishes to them.

Hey - I'll burst your bubble a little- back in Spring 2002 arbitrons for WQCK-FM was 3. /for the summer 02 it was 2.3/ Fall 02 pt.1 was 3.5 and Fall 02 pt 2 was 3. - so it looks like a little hike for 2005 but then I just read that radio listening & ratings went up due to Katrina. I would have thought that Klove would have soared it to the roof though - they have stayed pretty close to what the original owners of the Bridge did. I wouldn't be so euphoric. Also did Klove start their programming before the June 30th date, if not the previous owners got a 3.2. since those diary dates were before the June 30th date.
