KLOZ 1979

I was hired by Claude Hooten (Brad Edwards) in 1979 at KLOZ. I eventually worked 6 to midnight. It was sold and the original Lee Masters from WNBC was GM/ part owner. We went to number 1 competition was fierce. We were country. KINT top 40 Jim tablet station, KPAS classic rock , (KSET was a automated disco station and we’re high in ratings)! Many more. XEROK was the high peered station in Mexico. Wolf man Jack worked there but in 79 it was automated and all the music was at a higher speed and really sucked. I couldn’t understand why they couldn’t fix that. But it was fun back then. All media people lived at Vista Sol apartments on north mesa. Radio in B complex snd TV in A complex. We were all good friends. I almost worked at KPAS and a few more. But stayed at KLOZ. K-102 Texas Country! It was a great experience. The stars were bight and the sky was big!
