Anyone know what the status of their upgrade is? According to Radio-Locator, the CP expires on 2/5. I know 99.3 didn't sign-on until the day their CP was set to expire, but this is Univision isn't it? I have not driven that way in a few months, but is the tower even up?

It should be interesting how good of a rimshot this is for both San Antonio AND Austin.

Anybody know anything?

I posted about this a while back also, I wouldnt know what they would turn it into but it would be interesting, knowing that it will also support Victoria market very well. I dont believe Univision owns them any more. I just wouldnt really see how that will work out though with the 60db cutting into 97.9's 60db like that also. Gues we'll see how it turns out if it does go through.

From my understanding, Univision would take over only if the transmitter is moved to the Tower of Americas. I believe this is still pending for FCC approval. 97.7 La Kalle? See what happens once the signal goes up.

Re: KLTO-97.7 TESTING??

While waiting for my wife at a doctors appointment today around 38th street and lamar, I was picking up a pretty clear station at 97.7 playing stone temple pilots. No DJ's, no ID's, actually some dead air as well. Could this be KLTO testing their signal?? No sign of them up in Round Rock--mostly mild bleedover from KWTX.

As it stands right now, the American shareholders of Televisa own KLTO 97.7 according to FCC records. I wouldn't look for the McQueeney upgrade to happen in the immediate future. They have an application that has been accepted for modifying the original CP. I suspect this will give them more time to upgrade than 3 AM Sunday.

No, you were looking at the required filing for significant shareholders, of which Emilio Azcárraga Jaen is one. The owner of the licencee is Univsion. The ownership reports have a set of tiers: licensee, partent of licensee, parent of parent, significant outside shareholders. That is why there are 5 ownership reports, all interlinked, for this station.

That would make sense. I probably could have figured that out if I had the time to check everything there. That's what I get for trying to get a quick answer! Thanks for the info!

Is this signal going to make it into Austin? If so, I'll have to change the frequency of my Ramsey...again! :(

It will, but barely. Southern parts of the Austin market will get a listenable signal, but probably very spotty in northern areas unless tropo is kicking in.

Well, it seems like I've heard this, or some other Spanish station, on 97.7 before, but on a very occasional basis. So is ANY freq completely clear in Austin right now?
