Re: KLUC Mornings / No More ZOO?
KLUC makes money! The station made about a million last year! I give Cat Thomas all the credit due for putting Chris Tracy in middays(who can and will outgrow this market quickly---good talent---walks the tightrope well) He saw an opportunity to take KLUC a little more mainstream like when they had 8 shares. The brotha's and hard core hip hopppers dont like KLUC for the most part, they like Mike P and HOT. That leaves the other 2/3 to listen to KLUC. With WILD gone, there is room for the 2 stations to co-exist. As long as Cat is in place, the staion will be a factor in the market---if he ever leaves---they're done! That station would be LOST without him, and no one inside is strong enough to do battle in a 3 way race(which like it or not) he won! I am not saying they didn't go unscathed, but looking at ALL the numbers...they are in good shape!
If Chet does leave, he WILL get screwed by Sandusky---KLUC rarley fires people---He got screwed in Portland, and mark my words---he WILL get screwed down the line if he takes this gig! Bet on it!

Are you kidding? KLUC has gone so far down the crapper since 97.5 came out that I actually cringe when the new books come out. Marty Basch and Cat Thomas probably pop antacids like they're candy. KLUC is one of the most pathetic stations on the air! And as far as how much money they made, I doubt they hit the million mark when their prime rates are in the low $100's. That's damn near impossible. The bigger the giant, the harder they fall.
