KLUV FLIP

CBS has registered several 98.7 domains as of March 11th...

987AmpRadio.com, 987FreshFM.com, 987TheParty.com, Energy987.com, Fresh987.com, Now987.com, Now987FM.com, Play987.com, and 987NowFM.com

CBS owns 4 stations at 98.7 - one of them of course is KLUV. Anyone know anything??? ???

What?! No SAVED 98.7? :D

ROFL! ;D

See guys, I told you KLUV would get flipped, in another thread. Some of you said they'd never flip it because it's a cash cow.

Riiiiight.

John Summers, see if yo agreee with me on this one. KLUV would be THE LAST CBS station they would flip if they were going AMP or NOW. If they were smart, in the CBS chain, it would be 105.3!! Not KLUV. I don't think they would that in Dallas anyway.

Except you are forgetting that CBS isn't smart. The fact that John only laughed at this topic and didn't confirm or deny anything, smells fishy to me.

and dont forget ampradio94.1

now cbs owns 2 stations on that signal

(1 94wysp philly
(2 94.1 WSJT smooth jazz in tampa hmmmmmmmm

Heavy rumor is that it's WVMV. Although I personally like the station, CBS can't sell it. They're doing a commercial free block of music from 8 AM to either 11 AM or 1 PM.

KLUV is likely safe.

I honestly cant See KLUV flipping. Theyve been doing what theyve been doing for a LONG time.
If they flipped we would have NO Oldies at all... Except for 96.7 The Nap, 770 The Songs You Dont Know [although they are getting better] and For Collin County Listeners 1500 KJIM and 1230 KSST. We Would Have No Rock & Roll Oldies Station To put it Basic.

don't think they are ready to flip KLUV with a 3.9....

The fan I hear is a corporate project headed directly from NY, really think they'd flip it this quick? maybe another month or two at least.

I realize in today's market with PPM's, fast results are desired, but wouldn't that be a hasty move?

I', not a PD or sales guy, so do share your insight....

Well the original KVIL had been doing their thing for a very long time, and look what happened. CBS has proven themselves that they have been flip happy as of late. So I wouldn't rule out a flip for KLUV just yet. John's silence still says a lot.

KLUV has a 3.9 that's impressive. I doubt they will switch. However I do find it interesting why Jody Dean constantly makes fun of his own company. Some of his jokes have been very nasty. Good Christian Boy. :D

3.9 12+, which isn 't very meaningful. But on the topic of 12+, they did hit 4.0+ last year. Now it looks like they are declining again. I'm not ruling anything out at this point.

We've done as poorly as 20th and 22nd in the demo and as well as #1-#5....and so it goes...BTW, check the latest PPM data for a more accurate picture of 'now'. Also, financially speaking, I just don't see it happening.
