Anybody noticed the changes at KLUV? Earl Mann is now the voice guy on the station, he also voices at sister station WJMK in Chicago. Also KLUV has added a lot more music, music I would never thought they would play. Check out their playlist at www.kluv.radio.com

That link didn't seem to work, but this one will get you there: kluv.radio.com/

Yeah, when I heard "Stairway to Heaven" in its entirety last Thursday evening I thought, "now that's different!" Plus I hadn't heard the entire Stairway in quite awhile.

I can't knock what the CBS oldies brain trust is doing.

I'm cool with the changes. If I need to get "Lost in the 50's" I've got Sirius in the car and my I-pod.

KLUV has re-imaged as "The Greatest Hits From The 70's & more" with Earl Mann as the new voice guy of the station replacing Charlie Van Dyke. Like the new change.

Congratulations to CBS radio for figuring out something that seems to have eluded so many in the industry: those of us who listened to Top 40 radio in the mid and late seventies know "Stairway to Heaven" and consider it to be a pop song. It was played heavily by Top 40 stations during this era -- and I remember that when one Top 40 station in the area where I grew up (Seattle/Tacoma) did their annual listener survey, "Stairway to Heaven" came in at number one for year after year.

Personally, I think it's great to hear Led Zeppelin and Donna Summer on the same station again...

I've heard songs recently after 7pm that I never thought I'd hear on KLUV. They seem to be doing a true "top 40" format musically---playing ALL the hits from the 70s on---not just the "pop" hits of yesteryear...

Top 40 instead of a niche format? What's old is new again. I like it.

Their HD-2 channel ain't too shabby, either... ;)

No one could ever replace Charlie Van Dyke.

KLUV just played "Brother Louie" by Stories. You don't hear that song no more.

I believe you can still hear Charlie Van Dyke voicing the HD-2 oldies station - for now, anyway... Speaking of HD-2: I've noticed a lot more of the usual 60's fare on the main KLUV channel playing on "Oldies Radio". Wonder if they'll drop the "hourly Elvis" for "Beatle blocks" in the near future...

KLUV has dropped The Tom Kent Show for Charlie Tuna on Saturday nights
