Deja-Vue!

the countdown stunt is exactly what happened in seattle when 100.7 changed to the wolf
This seems to be a Scott Mahalick specialty. This is exactly what he did to 103.3 in Modesto back on August 14, 1992 on then Easy Listening KBEE. It became KATM- Kat Country 103.But the robotic voice just counted down from 35,000 (I guess, don't know the exact number). It went like this in a robotic voice: "35000, 34999, 34998, 34997, 34996, 34995, 34994, Something New And Exciting Is Coming To 103 Point 3 FM, 34993, 34992, 34991.......and so on. I have that robotic countdown on tape. Scott is back in California!

i would rather have oldies than country crap

I'm glad the Country format is returning to the Bay Area. But, who
will pick up the old Max format? Maybe KKSF?
I guess that with Max gone, maybe Jack will make an appearance in San Francisco on one of the CBS stations? Perhaps Alice 97.3 will have a sex change or Free FM will be history? Who Knows?

Im sorry to see country music come back! It seems this Bay Area has a thing for "Dull Formats"!! Thankful to have XM and Sirius! So now that country music is back will this mean no more "Baggy Pants" I just dont see Cowboys wearing anything but Wranglers! Yee Haw! I can hardly wait to see if Entercom can come up with a better Promo Commercial than Movin 99.7s!! I didnt know there was any Demand for country music here? Personally, I think Its proposterous that you cant hear Elvis Presley in The Bay Area! Unless you listen to The Re Created KYA? Looks like Its Randy Travis, for the time being, Someday maybe the Beatles may Emerge here, I wont hold my breath, I will be anxious to see if The Cadillac Ranch in Concord re opens and theres a big rush on Cowboy hats! Ride em Cowboy! Kenny in Concord

It's just generic Entercom. Over the last year or so, they've used the countdown with the Microsoft Sam voice and odd liners on the launches of Snap 94.1 in Memphis, 97.7 WAAF in Boston, the afformentioned 100.7 The Wolf in Seattle, 93.1 The Wolf in Greensboro, NC; and plenty of others.

The Wolf 95.7 The Bay Area version of ABC/Disney's cursed 94.7 FM frequency in Chicago just one up the dial!

And in New York, it used to be 105.1 (Bonneville/AMFM/Clear Channel) until they struck gold with Power.

Now New York's cursed frequency, without a doubt, is CBS' 102.7. (Fresh!)

They should have taken the Wolf about 300 miles down Int 5 and set up in Bakersfield!! thats a Cowboy town plenty of Wranglers and ten gallon hats! I just dont see whats so important about Country Music in this Oh so Liberal Bay Area!! I predict A Max of one year , and the Wolf will dissapear!!! I can hardly wait!! Kenny in Concord

I checked out the site and that's a pretty cleaver intro for The Wolf website. Whats with this "Fresh Country"
BS.. I hear more "Fresh Country" on XM's Highway 16! When will these radio programers cut back on all the hype and just play the hits Country, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul, or whatever? 10,000 Songs in a row with 20 million promo's for "The Wolf" in between Big Fat Deal! Entertain the listeners rather than trying to brainwash the listeners! The object is to program the station so they listen not so they know how to fill out some diary. This is radios biggest drawback. Entertain them and the diarys will take care of themselves!

Enough already whatever the format!

Hi Folks:

Country may not be all that popular but at least the stations playing a unique format instead of duplicating the ones already being played in SF.

Mike

How long will this crappy station last? Let the bets begin

The new format will be "fun, energetic, Bay Area focused and unlike any other station in the area."

Funny. Theyn said the same thing about Max.

New music. Same old PR.
