Mapleton, the fine folks who bring us KPIG, have switched KMBY to...
"The Meta Terrestrial Radio 18-34 male format," which combines elements of Urban, Rhythmic, Alternative, Sports, Active Rock and FM Talk.
KMBY will run under the command of new PD/MD Byron Cooke, who's known for his time at London's XFM and Australia's Triple M Network; Mapleton Group head of programming Mike Anthony; and new Marketing Director Crissy Whalin. Ex-KMBY PD Kenny Allen stays on as OM and keeps his PD stripes for Classic Rock clusterbuddy KHIP.
"You are going to hear rock and rap in even rotation on this radio station," says Cooke. "Plus, you'll hear live NFL on the weekends, a live local afternoon drive show called The B-Team and some really hot promotions."
Wednesday's playlist included AC/DC, The Killers, Daddy Yankee, Kanye West, AFI, Chamillionaire, Tool, The Foo Fighters and Snoop Dogg.
