KMCQ....Hiring??

Hey.... If their studios are up in an automated transmitter building atop of Radio Hill obviously I would need a ride (as I don't drive, and ride buses everywhere), but is KMCQ hiring? I already heard that they have had 1 DJ on the air, taking requests and stuff. Are they paying anyone? As someone looking for work, I would like to get my hand in radio if possible, maybe even part-time. If anyone knows, let me know! I am young, yes, but I do know the music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. (Suprising...but yes!). If I had to, I could even get advice from someone my Dad knew, who now is a DJ on K-Earth 101 in Los Angeles and did work in San Diego (i'll find a way to contact him! lol. I haven't talked to him since I was little).

A bonus would be voicetracking from home (with some training on how to do it of course). I know Norm Gregory did it when he had his job at KFMY (97.7 The Eagle).

Anyone who has connections with KMCQ though, let me know, and thanks!

With all due respect, swhyde1980, if there WERE any openings at KMCQ, people who really wanted to work there wouldn't be posting on message boards asking to be spoon fed information on any openings at this (placeholder) station. They'd be quietly researching the station, and sending demo packages to station management and following up WITH THE STATION on any possible openings.

Also, you have a number of limiting factors (lack of transportation, desire to telecommute) that right away disadvantages you from others who also want part time gigs in radio.

I'd suggest talking to that friend of your dad's who's already a DJ and find out the RIGHT way to get a job in the business.
