KMCQ - Honesty is hardly ever heard

Wonder if KMCQ is playing Billy Joel gold.

Reason I ask = their engineering firm notified the FCC that with testing complete and with Cougar settings resolved, First has now "completed their move into the Seattle market".

I thought they are supposed to be serving COVINGTON???
Gee....I wonder if this was the plan all along??

The thread about 104.3 & translators, etc. reminds me of the amazing corporate pushback I got when FCC was in town gathering input (Copps et al). I had submitted a request that stations should file at minimum a REPORT indicating what they had done with the license during their last term as an exhibit of whether the license should be renewed. In short, not a LOT of paperwork ... but SOME carrot to allow the Commission to consider whether someone else would do a better job with the frequency than the previous owner who let the Prophet system track music 24/7 and a voice track coming from Lincoln, NE.

WSAB and others were not very happy with me, as that would involove "too much accountability" and "too much work".

I have a kid in high school who is required to do more work EVERY DAY than that "essay" would require.

Meanwhile...maybe there may, someday, be an LPFM frequency allocation that can be dedicated to ...... COVINGTON!!!

I only wish the KMCQ folks would have just put a tone on the air for testing so those of us who understand that they're testing, don't have to keep reading these posts when the IPod, or whatever it was is working or not. I mean for Lord's sake people; there are 64 other radio stations in which to listen in the market, yet you keep railing on and on about a brand new station conducting TESTING. :D

A station testing with generic music... What an outrage!

My guess would be that First Broadcasting is not losing a lot of sleep over whether we have to check postings regarding every twist of their screwdrivers.
