KMCQ In Doctor's Office

I heard Lynn Anderson's "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden" on the overhead speakers in a doctor's clinic yesterday.

It was in the north end, near Lynnwood.

I thought "Who's playing this"? And it turned out to be KMCQ!

While the audio was okay on the overhead speakers in the office, at home and in the car the audio still leaves very much to be desired.

I've heard it in a few shops as well, for some time now. Ballard Brothers Seafood on 15th Ave NE plays KMCQ, at least when I stopped in to place an order a few weekends ago. Over a couple of ceiling speakers, it's not as bad an audio quality, or selections, as you'd get from muzak (as a broadcaster, I have to cross myself when I say that company's name!). Seemed like just the right music mix for a fast food seafood joint, and may have included a little classic country crossover material during the 15 minutes or so I had to wait for my order, as well. Too bad the kitchen cook had some sort of rap stuff blaring thru the order window.

Anybody order a serving of attention deficit disorder??

On the other hand, if an establishment, including my own dentist, has music playing, I"m finding most often it's an XM-Sirius channel, with few or no commercials/promos/etc. to break up the wallpaper, er, mood.

I am hearing KMCQ in more and more retail establishments now from gas station/convenience stores to book/video stores from South Seattle to the north Lynnwood area. I was doing yard work last weekend and had KMCQ on in my yard for six hours straight. Not once was I bored with the play list. My neighbor was working in his yard too and finally yelled over to me to tell him what station I was on, then he set his radio on 104.5 as well.

I see they have now retained a national sales rep company. The zombie awakes...slightly.

Just as long as they don't hire any idiotic consultants to tell them what WE want to hear.

Yep, Greg Tacher snagged 'em.

Way to go Greg. He's my rep.
