KMCQ - New Website and Streaming Live!

And maybe some day they will get big boy processing as well. My gosh, there's shareware out there that would make them sound ten times better. Heck, I have an old CBS Audiomax in my garage- even THAT would be an improvement.

C'mon kids- I realize you are just a place holder, but at least sound like you are trying! :D

According to their website, they're going to have their own commercials airing on KSTW-11 beginning Wednesday 11/23. (Go figure....They probably got a deal, since they've been promoting "The CW-11" on KMCQ for some time now).

From the KVI thread, Steenman said: "when I heard a couple weeks ago that Clear Channel did an LMA for sales w/ KMCQ"

How much of this has to do with CC getting their fingers into the KMCQ pie?

And wouldn't a sales agreement be a JSA? An LMA would imply control of more than just sales.

Regarding sales/marketing for KMCQ, there is no LMA between Clear Channel and KMCQ. All due respect to Mr. Steenman, that rumor is just that...a rumor. I do know that KMCQ has contracted with a local full service marketing company, Classic Marketing Guild, to create marketing partnerships with clients/events and the station (such as Little Creek Casino concerts). I know this because it is I, Kevin Murphy.

Okay, I never post to this hateful board, but I HAVE TO KNOW.

Are you the Kevin Murphy who:

Was the voice of Tom Servo on MST3K for those many years?
or
Was until earlier this year, attached to CBS Radio by the tender parts
or
The developer of the fabulous line of hair care products.
or
Some other guy who has a really popular name?

If it really is you, PLEASE stick to 60s and 70s music on KMCQ. No 80s! Some 50s is ok though. 104.5 is the best station in Seattle for a reason. The great, deep play list of 60s and 70s records you've been playing.

Why do people keep saying that KMCQ is a place holder? That has been going on for a couple of years now. Is it normal for a place holder station to do as much as KMCQ is doing, what with sponsored events, a website, and now steaming? I am merely a listener but it sure seems to me like the station is here to stay. I, and the thousands of us who listen religiously sure hope so anyway.

Placeholder......such an odd term. When I heard of KVI's and KMCQ's oldies format being described as a "placeholder", I had to ask "HUH?" Is this radio musical chairs? As long as they have licenses, their places on the dial are pretty secure.......

Sweet. My radio is slowly losing battery power so this is a great alternative!

Little peeved that they dumped the message board and now I have to re-register for that site again.
