KMCQ same music

Have you noticed that KMCQ plays the same songs at the same time every day. They could at least mix up the automation a little bit. This has been going on for weeks.

That's OK. Dori Monson says the same thing at the same time every day as well. ;D

The music you are hearing on 104.5 is somewhat more entertaining than a 400hz test tone, but it basically serves the same purpose. When Fisher puts KOMO on there to cover the eastside and north end, you won't hear repetitive music any more. Just repetitive double glazed window commercials.

Triplecast baby! 1000/97.7/104.5

No I don't know anything, just a random guess.

I think we should start a pool and predict when we will hear the announcement of a sale or transfer of ownership. These guys have had plenty of time to find a buyer, and have now had a couple of weeks to 'verify' that the signal does in fact do probably exactly what it showed on paper. Lawyers add lots of time to the process but I would think we might hear something any day now. I'll go with 'in the next 30 days" any other/better guesses? As far as 'who' the glaring clue in my mind is that they are sitting on Entercom's tower. This is relevant only in that we at least know some kind of agreement is in place there at least in regards to that.

OK, Steenman...I'll take you up on that. I WILL stick with my unfounded prediction of the Fisher Triplecast.

Announced on 19 Feb.

For the win!

Clear Channel or Entercom would be the most logical buyers.

Except CC is borderline Chapter 11 and ETM is just barely doing a little better.

Put your $$$ on Bonneville. They'll try and re-create KBSG.

I think you might be right about this.....nothing else seems to be "winning" over at Eastlake these days....if a 'KBSG' was ressurected over there though, they will have to contend w/the new PPM, something that was not a factor in the past. I don't recall how that format does in PPM....can someone on this board enlighten us when they have a moment?

In Portland, KLTH has skyrocketed in the PPM! By the way, in the Holiday book, K103 got over a million cume! I didn't even think it could happen here!

In Portland, Paul Allen sold a full power FM and a 50kw AM for $11 million last year. He paid something like $42 million for them. I think it was in 1998. I know this isn't Portland, but prices have declined a bunch nationwide.

Exactly. And here in Seattle two of the top PPM performers are Jack and KJR-FM, which both play a lot of "oldies". So it's not that much of a stretch to see Bonneville bringing back KBSG with a big splash.

So the report is that they are only operating at 1.5kw right now, but I still heard them quite well this afternoon just south of Bellingham.

They have applied for their license now so they are at full power. They were at 50% power when they were testing.
