KMCQ Talk Show??

On Sunday evening between 11 &11:30, they were running a syndicated talk show from the University of Minnesota regarding food safety and refrigeration) Still no commercials. At 11:30 they resumed their automated service (Question Mark & The Mysterions 96 Tears)

My guess is an attempt at public affairs programming for their public inspection file.

Yup. A public service program. It's usually reserved for Sunday mornings on most stations. But KMCQ is probably thinking ahead. I think there's something on KJR-FM at the Sunday morning timeslot and that's their edge with this on Sunday night.....

Back in the '80s, the old KNWR (now KAFE) used to run all their public service time between 2-4 AM on Monday morning (when NOBODY was listening....or had fallen asleep with the radio on - the subliminal advantage, makes for interesting dreams after a night of jello shots and good weed. Or was whipping up steakburgers at the Horseshoe Cafe and they might have flipped to the competitor, but they didn't have Arbitron diaries anyway. So BIG DEAL about THEM....) and got away with it.

I'm sure you can still do that today.......
