KMEL 106 FM Aircheck Collection Sneak Preview

I just loaded a set of KMEL broadcast recordings up on the museum website:

http://bayarearadio.org/audio/kmel/

Included is a Rock-era "Camel" broadcast with Mary Holloway (1982), the debut of the new KMEL with Marvelous Mark McKay (1984) and four hours of John London and Renel's last Morning Zoo show together (1991), along with a few other treats...

Please note that we're trying out a new non-Real Player method of streaming the audio beginning with the KMEL Collection -- you should be able to listen using whatever your prefered player is (Winamp, iTunes, etc.). If you have any problems launching the audio, please contact me with a private message and let me know the symptoms.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Mark,

There are six airchecks. Are you getting a 404 error on all six of them?

I just tried them on two different un-networked computers, and the audio came up on each one without a problem.

Please reply to me via a private message.

Thanks!

Do you know if anyone has airchecks of KMEL's (first or last days) as a rock format known as Camel 106 from either 1977 when it changed from KFRC-FM or the summer of 1984 before the station went to top 40? What did you remember about the Camel 106 days? Tell us what you think.
