Rather unexpectedly found this on the backside of a mislabeled cassette tape tonight. Here is a rather different sounding KMEL from 22 years ago.

Whoa! Those were the days that KMEL was playing songs that both charted on the Billboard Top 40 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts and was considered a true rhythmic crossover with a heavy urban-leaning (like WPGC/Washington in present day). It's a shame that CC pushed them totally off the rhythmic leaning edge to protect KYLD.
