I just noticed that KMEL's HD-2 channel is now airing IHeart Radio's American Top 40 channel. Is this a sign that KMEL's main channel will soon be changing formats or is their HD2 channel in only stunt mode?
I think it means they don't know what to do with it.
If all they can put on HD2 is another version of a different in-market CC station, they should turn it off and give the bits to the main channel so it sounds better.

Yeah and destroy the legacy of a heritage [younger skewing] R&B station with a strong hip hop focus that took years to shed its 80s era top 40 image. CC makes too much money off KMEL to do something like that, and KMEL is to the Bay Area what V-103 is to Atlanta.
