KMEZ

The board is eerily silent on KMEZ's upgrade to 106.7, and the fact that FaGreed Suleman finally had the sense to shoot the horse that was KKND.

I see this as a total positive for LBJ and his crew. That's a station that's deserved a bigger signal for years.

Couldn't agree more. LBJ is a class act and all that station needs for big improvements is a better signal. Couldn't be happier for the EZ crew.

Actually it isn't silent as it was discussed when it happened over a week ago

Basically they pulled the plug as KMEZ may be off the air in under 3 months (It has to relocate by the end of August) and you are not going to kill your number 1 rated station in New Orleans for your company and the reason why the plug hasn't been pulled on the old school format on 102.9 I think so far.

That and you'll find that the KKND calls flipped to 102.9 and 106.7 took the new call of KXOS on May 29th ending the KMEZ call completely

That and even though I hated to see the Country go, as I stated in the other post, it was a nice boost up to cover more of the suburbs where many post K moved to as now those who moved toward Metarie and St. Charles can now hear the station once again with no problems.

So 102.9 is going dark in New Orleans? I could listen to Miss 103 again ;D No wait thats clear channel now..nevermind!

Basically KMEZ (Now KKND) had a construction permit to move to a different tower in New Orleans. they had three years to move. that got cancelled after the three year period in 2007. Now they are being forced off by September 1st, they are trying to hurray the FCC to make a decision as it's not much of a change over the 2004 CP however it's up to the FCC as they will have to build the station in basically 2 months to stay on the air or file a STA to go dark until the FCC decides what to do next.
