KMIH testing at 88.9 right now

KMIH is testing at 88.9 right now (2:00 pm PST Tuesday). They are simulcasting their 104.5 signal, which is also on right now, giving them two spots on the dial. Reception is good here in West Seattle.

Just tuned to 88.9, and KMIH seems to be coming in pretty good. And they're not getting hammered from KAFE, Bellingham any longer. Seems as though they picked the right channel to move to, though I am picking up some co-channel stuff from that pesky Calvary Chapel.

FM,

Calvary Chapel...who dat, some low power guys?

Towerlamp & FM Steve,

I heard the same issue yesterday on the new channel. I know that Calvary is the religious broadcaster that uses a sat dish to fill themselves in all over the country. They apparently have a translator on the same frequency as the new KMIH 88.9 channel. Don't know if this is the same translator that's up on Gold Mtn or what though....there seems to be a lot of interference in Renton and places to the south. You'd think the FCC would have cleared the channel for KMIH and told these guys off by now. the CP for KMIH was issued last September!
