KMJM Flips from Urban AC to Urban Mainstream

They have given up the Throwback position in favor of current Hip Hop with The Breakfast Club in the AM. Where does this leave KBWX? With IHM's STL cluster they now have an Urban, CHR, and RCHR. You can't lean the RCHR Hip Hop because it will step on KMJM, and can't lean it Pop because it will step on KSLZ. Doesn't seem it serves it's purpose as a flank anymore. What do you think happens with KBWX, keep the format or is there a hole in the market they can try there?

You bring up some good points with this format flip. They should have kept it as The Beat in the first place rather than blow it up back in 2009. That made absolutely no sense. I don't know what is going to happen to Wild 104.9. I am surprised Iheart Media hadn't blown it up awhile ago. I think they should move their gospel format to 104.9 and possibly try to sell AM 1600.

The classic hip-hop format on The Beat was really disappointing. R1's Boom stations are full of "oh wow" songs. The Beat always seemed to be on a journey to see how many times it could play "California Love" and other songs so burnt out they could have been on Wild.

Per the tip from the other website regarding former St. Louis morning host being syndicated back for a new 104.9... I have a few guesses, but I'm not particularly proud of any of them.

Alternative, with Rover's Morning Glory in mornings? (did Rover do well here? I'd assume no)
Urban AC, with Tony Scott or Steve Harvey in mornings? (not only is Tony busy with afternoons at KRNB/Dallas, but whether STL could support two Urban ACs comes into question)

(Totally agreed that KATZ 1600 should be on FM. Sacrificing 103.7 would be my pick.)
