KMKY/Radio Disney

The owners are the same as before the move. Radio Disney was not sold off with the ABC radio properties.

Studios / offices / automation system that fills in local avails atop the network are indeed in San Carlos, visible from the freeway just N of Brittan Ave.

Studios? I would be shocked if they had so much as a 635A and an M267 (or a podcasting setup from Guitar Center) in a broom closet which could be routed to the transmitter. Seriously, do they do any live origination at all from their new office suite, and do they have a production studio/control room which is at least on par with a carrier-current college station?

Stop in one day and prepare to be shocked. A carrier-current station would be very happy with that setup.

They record a half-hour public-affairs show per week and load it into the AudioVault.

You know, I can't help but read any post about Radio Disney without thinking "Do ANY kids listen to AM?"

Another funny thing is that RD's playlists overlaps the poppier side of Energy's quite a bit, I discovered when we did the studio move. Sometimes I refer to Energy as "RD-Adult Swim"...

It's the reason my kids own transistor radios, and know every program on The Disney Channel (and how to find it on DirecTV).

It's a little equation that most radio station owners can't do the math on:

Programming + Marketing = Listeners

Funny, but it's the same reason I listened to AM many years ago. If there's something worth listening to, people (regardless of age) will listen to it.
