Well, in case somebody was ready to ask, we did okay. Our 4 stations didn't lose any airtime, and provided extensive coverage. Seattle media ignored us; even the mail didn't get through.
So this building http://www.fybush.com/Tower%20Site/070209/kela.jpg is gone?dadetim said:KITI/Live 95 stayed on the air for the duration...i don't think any water reached that radio station....KMNT & KELA had to move their trailers (they were using trailers for offices/studios) since they didn't really recover from the floods from dec. '07. i know KELA went off the air for a little bit, but is now simulcasting with KMNT. KITI on the overnight hours are simulcasting with Live 95. i don't think that there was much water where KELA/KMNT is located on S. Gold, since the businesses across the street are back in business, so we were lucky out here
Their Web site has extensive reports as well. Phenomenal for a small-town operation!LITTLEBOYBLUE said:Was in Thurston & Mason counties yesterday and checked out KITI. Was very impressed...they were doing local news break and special flood reports, etc. It was a sad reminder of the difference between local radio ownership and the bigger fish as I don't think Clear Channel would have staffed weekend news even if the station was smack in the middle of a disaster area.
KUDOS to KITI.
