KMNY nights

So do the Biz Radio people purchase all of the air time for KMNY and sell it to whoever wants to buy it when they're not on the air? Ted Sauceman does the voice that you hear between the music that they're playing now. And Mike Shannon referenced the Biz Radio people whenever he talked about the 3-hours that the HiFi club currently has.

You brought that up a few weeks ago, I answered it, but can't seem to find my response in the archives. BizRadio only leases 6AM-7PM Monday-Friday, and 6AM-6PM on weekends. MRBI is the owner of 1360 and leases out all the time themselves. Their relationship with the Spanish folks who began leasing time in Sept 2006 has ended, although that programming apparently still runs as filler until a proposed talk network is signed on. That could be happening very quickly. BizRadio's lease with MRBI expires in March; Biz is trying to find a local station to purchase. I would guess Biz would go month-to-month thereafter, should they not find a station to buy before the contract's up. How this impacts their proposed move-in of KTON-940AM/Belton, I don't know...or if they are even still pursuing that.

Now BizRadio does indeed sub-lease time on weekend days, parceling it out to infomercials/talk shows that have some relevance to the business community.

Sorry about asking this before. I actually remember what happened that day, however I didn't think that the message actually posted. When I submitted the message, the server errored and gave me a page can't be found message. But I guess that it did post.

One thing is for sure Dan Freishberg and his wife Elisea and her puppet in FTW Shivaun Palmer need to leave the air waves. They contribute nothing, made stupid accusations, and blame others for their own short sightedness. They never give credit to one person who has brought them this far, and sustain some small credibility. That person is Brent Clanton.
It was mentioned before how the quality of the Dallas shows have been depleted, and the on air mistakes are plenty.
If Bizradio actually owns a station in DFW I would hope they would hire a competent staff, hosts, or extend an olive branch to their former producers and hosts, so their credibility has a chance to grow. As long as Dan let's his wife call the shots, expect mundane quality.

I can't even HEAR 1360 at night since they moved the towers. I live by Carswell, and it used to come in on the telephone!

It would not be wise for Frishberg to purchase a station in DFW. He has no experienced personnel running it. Brent Clanton really can't call the shots day-to-day in DFW from Houston as has been proven over the first three years of operation. From what I understand KMNY is on life support financially with not much ad support and a real lack of direction from the top. They guy they have running the show, from what I understand, is the son of a Dallas Fed board member who's ass Frishberg wants to kiss. This guy knows nothing about media, radio, sales or really business from what I understand. That's a pretty bad set of qualifications for an all-business media outlet.

If Frishberg buys a DFW station he should be prepared to hire a qualified GM and sales manager WITH media experience. If he buys a station and stays status quo it will surely fail miserably for its investors.
