KMPS 1300 History

Hey Guys:

Just was wondering. Did KMPS 1300 Simulcast 94.1 from 1978 to 1997?

Did they have any separate programming at all during that time?

I noticed in the Yearbooks it had KMPS AM Simulcasting the FM 25% from 1978 to 1987. Then 100% from 1988 to 1997.

Thanks

T.J.

KMPS simulcasted mornings from 1978-1982, then gradually began full time simulcasting by 1986 (the yearbook is off by a year.) Occasionally, KMPS-AM was used as an outlet for the overflow whenever sports game scheduling clashed on KIRO.

The morning simulcast was with Phil Harper.

When Manning Slater bought the stations, KMPS-AM went country, and the FM became KEUT - beautiful music. Then KEUT became KMPS-FM with a morning simulcast. Initially, we ran out of the AM studio with a stereo synthesizer feeding the FM studio.
