John Jensen, who managed KMPX during the big band format days (1972 to 1978) has put up a website celebrating the history of that part of KMPX's past. It includes a number of airchecks and actual film of DJs doing their shifts.
I had visited KMPX during the days when it had an "underground" format, but not during this era. They most have moved in the interim because the studio as shown in these clips has a window right behind the mic that obviously lets a lot of street noise in. I'm surprised it didn't get on-mic on the air because the noise is very evident (cars revving and horns) in the filmclips.
