Well apparently as of today K-MOZART (KKGO 105.1 HD2 and K252FO 98.3 in the SFV) programming is now being rebroadcast on new stations KOII 90.1 Holualoa on the Big Island, and KKOI 88.3 Kahului on Maui. Makes me wonder if Mr. Levine has or will have retirement property in Hawaii, and wants to be able to drive around and listen to his beloved Classical station!

I would hope that a 99 year old is not driving around... This is nothing new. He's previously run K-Mozart or K-Surf on his former properties in Monterey and Hawaii.
I don't think retirement is in Saul Levine's plans. Hawaii is probably where the Levine family likes to vacation.
I recall that when both AM 650 and 940 in Honolulu went dark, Levine was going to put them back on the air. Maybe others might know whatever happened with that.

KKGO is very profitable and pays all of the bills.
Saul Levine has been in the broadcasting business longer than most of us have been alive. When he got his first construction permit from the FCC, cars had tail fins, the name Fidel Castro was not yet famous, and the first Boeing jetliner (the 707) had not yet entered service.
It's safe to assume Mt. Wilson FM Broadcasters has created enough profit since that era to allow Mr. Levine some luxuries. If not, he probably would have sold out long ago.

I wonder how he is sending the signal to Hawaii? Internet streaming?

I guess he could be using an uplink, but I doubt it for this project.
Satellite would be way more reliable, I would think.
I know there is commercial/industrial strength internet, but when the interweb goes down, it goes down "good."
Satellite is generally the gold standard for uptime and consistency.
But online delivery is almost always good enough.
With unhosted or voicetracked classical, you could make a copy of the music library in Hawaii and only import the music log and any voice tracks from California every day. If the internet did fail, the computer would just repeat a prior day's programming.
They have to be operated as non commercial (in the non comm portion of the FM band). No spots, but they could add local elements.
