KNAV CP FOR RF-22

Well, JH, looks like I finally beat you to one at last! :)

The FCC has granted KNAV's application to operate on RF-22 with 10 kW from Milton Tower in Cedar Hill with 10 kW. The filing was made on 18 OCT 2010 and granted on 2 DEC 2010, a fairly rapid turnaround time.

Although the licensee is TUCK PROPERTIES, the engineering is being done by MAKO. It looks that KNAV will share the same antenna as KODF, an MCI Model 955318 at 180 meters AGL.

So, by my count, there are 3 CPs waiting to come on at any moment:

KSEX/20
KNAV/22
KHPK/28

Are we becoming the low power capital of America?

Perhaps we are. I was waiting to see something happen with that application. Seemed weird that it would just go away.

What on earth will these stations air?

...and where are they located?

I believe it will be on one of the towers at Cedar Hill (but I haven't looked) Might be on the top of the big green building in downtown Dallas.

See my initial post in this thread. KNAV will be on Milton Tower in Cedar Hill sharing KODF's MCI Model 955318 antenna.

The only two active facilities on Bank of America Tower (the green building) are KPFW/18 (RF-29 at present) and KLEG/44 (RF-44). KSFW/2 (RF-2) has a CP for a 130 watt plant at that site.

Yup, I missed that one.

KSFW/2 also. And KJJM has a CP to move to RF 49, though I have my doubts they'll ever follow through since RF 34 seems to be working just fine for them.

Los Angeles? I'm not sure about that one.

7-9-11-13-18-23-24-26-28-29-31-32-33-34-35-36-38-39-41-42-43-44-47-48-49-51 are full-power in Los Angeles.
Only 8-25-40-45-46-50 have low-power stations on them.

Houston has low-power stations on 7 (may be showing PSIP 50), 40 (PSIP 10), 21, 28, 34, 39 (PSIP 38), 43 and 46, with construction permits for 15, 29, 30 and 31.

Looks like Houston and DFW are tied, with 8 operational and 4 on the way: DFW has 27 (PSIP 26), 29 (PSIP 18), 31, 34, 38, 44, 50, and 51, with CPs for 2, 20, 22, and 28. But DFW will edge Houston if KQFW amends their application and gets it approved (or withdraws it and reverts to their CP for 56).

Dallas/Ft. Worth wins! Woohoo!

Add K25FW on RF-25 to the list. We've actually got 9 LPs on the air now. The World Series was blown and the Superbowl ain't gonna happen this year -- so the feather in our cap is the most low-power digital stations in Texas (and maybe the world). :)
