KNBR Briefly Off The Air

Hello...generator? That big noisy box out back in the parking lot that should be routinely tested and serviced? Yeah.

Cumulus is far too cool, hip and ironic to be bothered with anything mundane and physical like generators.

Our backup power is now provided by a company in Bangalore, which pays 1,000 farmer 5c a day to run on treadmills. It feeds in to the grid, and is sold for credits for power in Nevada, and provided to PG&E on your regular service entrance. If PG&E goes out, they'll switch to the backup feed seamlessly!
