KNBR host to provide color commentary on rival station

KGMZ announced today that Tom Tolbert will be part of the Warriors home broadcasts this season. https://957thegame.radio.com/

I've never heard of such a thing happening. I wonder how he got KNBR to okay it????

This is where a contract can be helpful. He's apparently not an actual employee of KNBR, but provides contracted services. I know of a couple of sports hosts who do the same thing in other markets. He is performing very different functions at each station, and he's on in different dayparts. By only doing home games, he will still be able to carry out his regular schedule at KNBR. But it's still a lot of work. Don't know how long he'll be able to do both gigs.

According to our friend Lieberman (so take it with a large grain), Tolbert's good buddy Steve Kerr had a lot to do with making this happen.
