Does anybody have old airchecks of "The San Francisco Story" which ran for
many years on KNBR (and I assume on KNBC before that)? It was a half hour
historical documentary about life in and about San Francisco in its early
days.
As a kid I remember listening to it every Sunday around noon and thrilling to
the descriptions Bud Heyde gave, imagining myself there on the 1870s streets
of the city. I think more than anything else this series sparked my interest
in California and San Francisco history.
I'd love to get some MP3s of those broadcasts. Surely they must exist
somewhere.
