KNDD to get Adam Carolla

ive been a longtime reader of the forums and i have found something worthy to post.

KNDD has replaced their morning show with the Adam Carolla Show, beginning January 3rd. I found this suprising since i was pretty regular listener to this show.
The DJ's had been talking about bringing in Bill Gates to do their "thursday music challenge" They were hoping to have him in sometime in january.
The DJ's bios are not on the site anymore, and all links have been removed.
Was this an expected move?
any comments?

edit- Adam will take over the morning 6-10am slot

here is the site that is no longer linked

With Howard and R&M now gone, I am at a loss for what to listen to in the mornings. Not to start any flame war, but the morning show at KNDD was just simply bad. I for one am very excited that they will be airing Adams new morning show. I will be tuning in on day #1.

Thanks for the info.

It's worth a shot. At least they're not bringing back The I-Guys.

You're not going to get apples-to-apples with Stern vs. Carolla (yes, I know Stern wasn't on KNDD), but it's better than what Jones did with hiring Alan Kabel to replace Delilah.

Interesting move leaving Seattle radio with no full market
station playing Alternative Rock, Active Rock or Classic Rock
from 6-10am. Most play it only sparingly throughout the day.
Seems to me there is a wide hole in this radio market, that I
guarantee would get advertiser dollars day one. (beer money,
electronics money)

Kind of funny that a town known for its Rock music, has no full-time
rock music station anymore. Times change.

I only listened to the End's morning alternative a few times, and maybe it changed a lot there at the end of its run....but there was quite a bit of music during that show.

I'm excited about Adam Corolla coming to town.

Oh Dan......just you wait..you might even get your wish. This radio market will be shaken, stirred, and spanked by this time next year. Hate to be so cryptic here, but I need to be. I will tell you this much though, these moves are designed for purely strategic reasons in preparation of a certain event.

Heck, they should just blow it up now! For the last few days the audio sounds like a bunch of low bitrate MP3s.

It's kind of sad that it looks like DJ No Name is history on the station. I always thought he was enjoyable to listen to. His old afternoon experiment show was the best.

So how many morning shows has it been since Savage left?

I agree. NoName was very likeable and I would love to see a local kid to make it big as a talent. DJDan offered a post that suggested The Morning Alternative was in trouble, as advertisers saw them as too young. Yeah, that was the case. It was as if they treaded lightly for six months and finally started to establish something when Jennifer White joined the show. They had nice chemistry, but the show really offered nothing more than that. I think they understood the need to reach out to advertisers, and thought the way to get there was to tread slowly -- very slowly. And when Carrola became available it was too late.

I would have liked them to have had another six months. Que sera sera.
