WRSG will begin its mostly-Christmas music format tonight at 12 midnight (yep, Black Friday). We will go from 12 midnight until at least 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 midnight to 12 noon on Saturdays and Sundays. We're doing this to accommodate our growing lineup of syndicated programming. Our mentor station, "LiteRock 93R" (WRRR) will go all-Christmas this evening, beginning at 7 p.m., so if anyone needs more "Sounds of the Season," we encourage our station to go there.
This is a departure from our past programming; we're hoping that folks that may already be burning out on holiday tunes will have a radio 'oasis' to discover. Don't get me wrong-I enjoy this music as much as anyone, but we also don't want to alienate our audience. We mention on-air and on Facebook that LiteRock 93R made-and makes-our station possible, so we have no problem with people tuning them in evenings for their mix of holday music.
