The FCC has just canceled the license of KNIU-LP for failure to be on the air for 12 months.
Dear Licensee:
This letter is to inform you that the license of Station KNIU-LP, Kansas City, Kansas (Station), licensed to Centro Cristiano Agua Viva has expired pursuant to section 312(g) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended,1 and is cancelled.
On December 15, 2025, we sent you a letter stating that, although our records reflect the continuous operation of the Station since its most recent license renewal,2 it has come to our attention that the Station may have been silent for more than a year.3 The letter provided you 45 days to submit evidence of the Station’s operation with authorized facilities between January 2023 and the present.4 It also stated that, if you failed to provide such evidence within that period, we would update the Commission’s public and internal databases to show that the Station’s broadcast license had expired, and we would then cancel the Station’s license and delete its call sign.5 To date, we have received no response.
Accordingly, the Commission’s public and internal databases HAVE BEEN MODIFIED to indicate that the broadcast license for the Station is EXPIRED, that the Station’s license is CANCELLED as a matter of law, and that the Station’s call sign is DELETED.
