KNML now on FM

The sports talk format on KNML 610 is now on translator K240BL 95.9 which had been off the air for most of the year. I wonder if Cumulus is planning to purchase this signal. They paid 425k for 94.5. 95.9 is owned by someone named Carl Brasher who also owns K298BY 107.5 airing KANW-HD2 which has all of the NPR talk shows. I would hope that 107.5 would not be sold as well since that is what I often have on in my car and I don't know of another signal that KANW could move the programming to. For now it may be a lease deal but the commercial band in Albuquerque is now maxed out so it would make sense to try to get the last available space. Also it seems that sports talk needs to be on FM these days to do well enough. Although the format is very low rated in this market and KNML is head-to-head with KQTM 101.7 which I don't think has rights to coverage of Lobo games. So now that they are on the same band, we'll see how this plays out.

If you have a newer car radio, the KANW HD-2 signal comes in excellently in ABQ. I thought the Lobo games were on the 94.5 translator of KKOB. But then I am not a big on sports.
