But don't worry. He still has Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve; his morning show on KIIS-FM; On Air with Ryan Seacrest; the Kardashians; the red carpet stuff; and, for one more season, American Idol. And word has it that he might even fit in a catnap over the next couple of months.
 
Not surprised. Ryan Seacrest is trying to rip off Publisher's Clearing House (somewhat) by knocking on random people's doors and introducing crappy pop artists and prizes. Not a good idea, and a waste of summer programming. Even Big Brother over at CBS is better than this!

The big problem with the show was that the suburban 'knocks' were pretty much 'big budget Double Dare' with the entire neighborhood in on the fun and guaranteed payouts, while anything within the beltway of a city was pretty much 'we're only going to go to one family and we're not going to toss around cash because inner city people stereotype!', or even worse, a segment where a Hispanic family had to gather scattered money on the ground and came off as offensive. A good idea with a botched two-headed execution where you had fun wacky games for the suburbs, and a dreadful Home Delivery rehash for the inner city, and that show only got to a rare quarter-season of syndication years ago.
 
The scenario behind Knock Knock reminded me of the old Jack Bailey "Queen For A Day" which was one of the most miserable "game" shows I've ever seen. Yet another lower-the-bar idea from the most worthless network.
 
Queen For A Day. "Tell us why you are the most pathetic and we'll put you on nationwide TV. You'll take home a Speed Queen (wringer) washing machine."
That's what I remember about the TV show. It was an embarrassment then ... Looking back, it's even more embarrassing now.
 
Wow, this might be the first time I've ever seen a Radio-Info/Radio Discussions General Manager participate in a regular thread. :D

Yes - I remember watching it...once. It was extremely depressing.

Keep watching. I do it all the time. I've retired from a great career in broadcasting. I do occasional work for a local AM/FM combo and enjoy adding my two-cents worth on this website from time to time. :)
 
Feel free to join us on the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer) which, as I'm sure you know, has been going strong...well, going adequately anyway....for over 8 years now on Radio-Info/Radio Discussions. Just please remember to follow the rules. ;)
