Knoxville gets another country station

"Studio 1040" is no more. It's now "Classic Country 1040 WKTI" dropping the only "adult standards" format in the area in exchange to be the 4th classic country station in the market.

Personally I think this is an awful choice since no one else plays the music that they did. But in reality, I was probably the only one that actually listened to "Studio 1040." Plus I guess this will make a decent combo sell with Q93.

But I'd love to see another AM in the area pick up where "Studio 1040" left off.

This is sad. I don't know who went first, but now all three east Tennessee markets are without this great music. And so is Asheville, though they get a weak signal from a Timeless station which will soon have to do something else.
