I've been getting what appeared to be gospel or perhaps standards on 95.3 under splatter from local 95.5 WHMA (which usually kills any DX on that frequency dead) all day. Turns out that it's BBN's WYFC in Clinton, TN. It's getting out pretty good for a 1.5kw class A 200 miles away. Getting WJXB-97.5 "B97-5" and KNOX-FM 100.3 as well. Every other Knoxville-area station is co-channel or first adjacent to a strong local, so there's basically no chance in heck for those. I'm amazed that I finally caught the first two. Maybe some of the other Alabama DXers here that aren't as close to the big Birmingham sticks will have a chance at the others.
 
That's pretty impressive you can hear WYFC that far away. Their tower is on a hill just north of Knoxville. It's not a very impressive stick but it does have decent elevation for a class A station. As for the other two stations you mention, 97.5 has a tall tower in the main Knoxville tower farm, and 100.3 is on top of a mountain about twenty north of the market. 100.3 is licensed to Oak Ridge. It probably has the most land coverage of any Knoxville signal.
 
I managed to pull in WNOX 100.3 in the car in Springfield, OH with Rush the day that 100.3's got shuffled in ur neck of the woods (Connersville IN to Norwood, OH..see the Indiana board for details on that).
