Later this year, NBC's KNSD/channel 39 is leaving its downtown home on Broadway in San Diego for a new facility in Kearny Mesa, north of downtown. They cited thoroughfare access (Interstates 15 and 805 and state road 52 encompass it) and employee parking as reasons for the move. Their transmitter will remain in Spring Valley (east of San Diego). Three other stations are headquartered in Kearny Mesa--KFMB/ch. 8 (CBS), KUSI/ch. 51 (Ind.), and KSWB/ch. 69 (Fox).
