Doez anyone know if KNSJ is back on the air after filing the STA authorization with the FCC after all of their antenna and trransmitter problems?
Very odd.I get the feeling they do not want to repair it. All they care about is having the KNSJ call letters to use for their web site.
Yes, they've been back on the air for at least a few weeks.Doez anyone know if KNSJ is back on the air after filing the STA authorization with the FCC after all of their antenna and trransmitter problems?
I am not familiar with heritage call letters for San Diego, was KNSJ call letters on an important or ratings leading station at one time?I get the feeling they do not want to repair it. All they care about is having the KNSJ call letters to use for their web site.

I think you might be thinking of when the current NBC 7 advertised themselves as KNSD News San Diego 7/39. Before then, they were KCST.I am not familiar with heritage call letters for San Diego, was KNSJ call letters on an important or ratings leading station at one time?
No. They never thought that far or be ever had the ability to think in the present or future.I might have to do with streaming rights since they are a radio station.
The only reason for purchasing KUMI would have to be plans to upgrade this facility. This a 100 watt signal that only covers sand dunes. No joke, the only permanent structure in Glamis is a gas station and store. There are zero people living within signal range, only visitors to the dunes. They now have another station in Imperial County in Glamis KUMI-FM on 89.1 in Glamis as well as they just received FCC approval to buy a CP in Fortuna Foothills (east of Yuma) on 91.5.
