knte-fm

I just got me (finally) a Bose wave radio music system, that thing sounds awsome, and it picks up am/fm great. I just hope I'll be able to use it for years to come.

The real scoop, don't worry about that, we all know which tower was completed first and "what not". I wasn't referring to KTJM or KQQK only, but to KQUE, KEYH, and KSEV. Seems to me the KXGJ/KNTE duo seems to be broadcasting HD to serve no one at this moment. I have a difficult time understanding why both these stations were put up first before even making an attempt to install HD in their local AM's.

Rome wasn't built in a day. LBI has been building up its stations in this market since day one. I'm not convinced the IBOC on AM is the way to go. I'm not impressed with what I have heard so far.

KEYH, IBOC is way out of the question from it's present site/array. This site is due for a major overhaul this year.

KQUE is a 1KW Non-D station with a crappy ground system and no way to fix it with out moving the site. IBOC is the last thing it needs.

KSEV is a leased station. They do not want IBOC. If they show no intrest in IBOC, whyshould LBI push it on them.

KJOJ-AM well..... not much to say here.
Autopilot, can you tell me why Liberman holds onto KJOJ? It seems like the company doesn't have a clue what to do with it. Considering how desperate it seems for a community like The Woodlands to get a radio station, I'd think KJOJ is unloadable at a good price.

I guess the right price has not come along.

Well who would buy it?? After the Owens family sold it, it never has done worth a damn....and LBI got it in the spin off due to CC-AMFM merger; it was a package deal....but true, it does nothing for them....they were squeezing Radio Saigon for blood money in the LMA of 880 to RS...but the signal is directional 10KW NW over Lake Conroe during the day and 1KW SW at night...,A POOR SIGNAL over any decent part of Houston proper at all...
BUT Lenard Liberman has a flawed attitude...."We dont sell stations, we buy them"....well, Lenard, you need to go back to Stanford, retake Economics 101 and relearn "ROI"....880 was and will never be NOT a good one; especially as long as you program it the way you do...wrong format for that area.......geesh the spanish FMs kill 880 even in Conroe.
